Jamshed Bjarucha joined Tufts in 2002 from Dartmouth
College, where he was the John Wenworth Professor of Psychological and
Btain Sciences. His research has focused on the cognitive and neural
basis of the perception of music, using perceptual experiments, neural
net modeling, and functional magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). He is
a respected innovator in advancing knowledge about music perception.
At Dartmouth he received the Huntington Teaching Award in 1989 and the
Undergraduate Teaching Initiative Special Award in 2002.
The Arizona Tufts Alliance, a chapter of the Tufts University Alumni
Association, invites you to take advantage of our cooler winter
weather and join your fellow Tufts alums and their guests on a hike
on Sunday morning, January 27. Our current plan is to hike the Go-John
Trail in the Cave Creek Recreational Area (Carefree Highway & 32nd
Street). This is a 6.8 mile loop trail listed as moderate with
some strenuous sections.
We are open to suggestions for alternative trails and will make a
final decision based on the skill and interests of those who respond.
We hope that this will be the first of a series of Arizona Tufts Alliances
hikes this winter and spring.
To sign up contact Eli Gilman, A92, Egilman@aol.com
not later than January 23rd.
The only cost would be whatever is charged by the area itself. In
the case of the Go-John Trail there is a $6/car parking fee at the trailhead.
We plan to meet at the selected trailhead at 9 AM on January 27th.
